Manhattan Information
Manhattan, Kansas, a city of 50,000, is known for the friendliness of its people and beautiful natural environment. Kansas State ranks as the safest campus in the Big 12 conference.
Manhattan has a four-season climate with beautiful springs and summers, colorful autumns and snowy winters. It is the typical, American college town with endless things to see and do, but with a small-city feel. Manhattan has many public parks and tennis courts, a zoo, a regional shopping mall, international food stores and restaurants and public golf courses.
On summer evenings you can listen to free concerts in the city park. If you enjoy the outdoors, you can explore the recreational trail that circles the city. Just a few miles from Manhattan is a major lake, Tuttle Creek Reservoir, where you can go swimming, sailing or fishing.
While at Kansas State you can cheer on any of the 16 varsity sports teams. People travel from across the state to cheer on the Wildcats at our football and basketball games, filling the town with purple!
We hope to see you here!
