TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF JOINING

Please read the following terms and conditions (rules) of International Buddies. You must agree to the following to be part of the International Buddies program.

  1. I will try to meet with my Buddy once a week. If I cannot meet with my Buddy during the week, I will contact them by phone or email.

  2. If I decide to quit the program, I will tell BOTH my Buddy AND the International Buddies program (buddies@ksu.edu).

  3. I will stop contacting my Buddy if he or she asks me to.

  4. I will not pursue a romantic relationship with my International Buddy.

  5. I will not try to convert my International Buddy to a new religion.

  6. I will not involve my Buddy in any illegal activities, including, but not limited to: under-aged drinking, driving without a license.

  7. I can help my Buddy study, but I will not assist my Buddy in violating the University Honors Code. For example, I will not write a term paper for my Buddy, even if I am not a student at K-State.

  8. American students: I understand that I am not guaranteed a Buddy from a particular country or speaking a particular language. If I only want a Buddy who meets specific requirements, I will make that explicitly clear on the “Additional Comments” section of the form, otherwise I may receive a Buddy who does not speak the language I desire. I understand that if I violate any of these terms, or behave inappropriately as determined by International Buddies staff, the K-State Office of International Programs reserves the right to suspend my International Buddies membership indefinitely. Major violations may be reported to law enforcement and/or university administrators.
