Evaluation Design
OEIE provides evaluation services to a wide variety of colleges, departments, and programs within Kansas State University and for the larger education community statewide and nationally. OEIE develops, designs, and implements program evaluation by:
  • Designing multidimensional evaluation plans that are compliant with funding criteria to be submitted with grant proposals;
  • Translating the evaluation plan into an implementation plan (i.e. from outline to working documents).
  • Designing methods and instruments appropriate to measure the goals and objectives outlined in the proposal.
  • Implementing all evaluation components:
    • Data collection - generate data using appropriate methods (parent surveys, student surveys, focus groups, archival data, school records, etc.)
    • Data analysis - statistical analysis of numeric data (frequencies, mean, std deviation, tests of significance where appropriate), qualitative methods of inquiry.
    • Provide ongoing formative direction to the project staff - timely feedback (written and oral) for an ongoing program improvement.
    • Consultation services throughout the project.
  • Monitoring effectiveness of program activities for alignment with program goals.
  • Providing summative evaluation - prepare an annual evaluation report.
