UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANT (UGRA)
Positions Available: 1

OEIE employs up to 7 UGRAs each term for one term. DESIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES include analyzing and entering data, transcription, work in various software programs, making campus deliveries and other possible assigned duties. SPSS and GIS software experience is preferred. MUST be available to work in the summer, spring break, and holiday breaks. This position is available immediately. Must have a valid driver’s license.

YOUR WORK SCHEDULE can be flexible from 20 to 30 hours per week in 2 hour time blocks from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. A shuttle is available from main campus to OEIE (Foundation Building).

Graduate Research Assistantship in Evaluation

HOURS: 20 hours per week (0.5 FTE)

Position Description:
The Office of Educational Innovation and Evaluation (OEIE) is looking for a competent, energetic, productive team player to join our professional evaluators, students, and unit staff to work on a variety of program evaluation projects. We provide comprehensive and collaborative project development, strategic planning, and evaluation services for externally funded projects, KSU colleges and programs, state agencies, foundations, and other universities. Applicant must have expertise and experience in one or more of the following:

  1. Applying qualitative or quantitative research methods
  2. Interpreting and analyzing quantitative data
  3. Designing surveys
  4. Writing research reports
  5. Conducting interviews and focus groups
  6. Conducting document reviews and content analyses
  7. Analyzing qualitative data (e.g., coding open-ended responses to hard-copy survey instruments)
  8. Excellence SPSS (and other relevant statistical software) skills

Applicant must be able to:

  1. Understand the philosophy of evaluation, and its differences and similarities to research
  2. Communicate and work with faculty, students and departmental staff in a client based environment
  3. Think critically to solve problems
  4. Coordinate evaluation activities and manage multiple complex tasks
  5. Work cooperatively and collegially in a team-oriented environment
  6. Maintain her/his work schedules consistently
  7. Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, accuracy and attention to detail
  8. Follow instruction and show initiative
  9. Meet deadlines and follow through on assignments
  10. Demonstrate flexibility and ability to prioritize

Graduate Students in our office are expected to have excellent computer skills, communication skills and a commitment to team approaches for evaluation and research.

Must be enrolled in 6 credit hours and be available to work in the summer. Must have a valid driver’s license.
