Housing and Dining Services
On campus living at K-State has a rich tradition of providing a residential experience for students that encourages personal growth and success. Living on campus fosters academic success, provides an environment that is friendly and accepting of all students, and assists in connecting students with campus resources.
Hall and floor governments plan educational and cultural activities, intramural events, study groups, leadership and diversity conferences, movie nights, picnics, scholarship and recognition dinners, service learning projects and more. The community standards and judicial boards provide students with an opportunity to address one another regarding in-hall policy violations. K-State Association of Residence Halls plans and coordinates campuswide activities during the year, and works closely with hall representatives.
Approximately 3,800 students live in the residence halls, and they have access to:
- Laundry facilities, TV rooms, computer labs, individual wired or wireless network connections, study spaces, basketball and tennis courts, and fitness rooms.
- Safer environment (staff available 24 hours a day, safety programs, 24-hour front desk, door access control, and campus-sponsored escort service).
- Dining centers that provide a wide variety of nutritious menus.
- Convenient and clean living environment (custodial service for community bathrooms and cleaning materials available on each floor).
K-State residence halls have professional full-time residence life coordinators who live in the hall. In addition, graduate students serve as assistant residence life coordinators in each hall, and one or two upper-level students serve as resident assistants on each floor.
