K-State Healthy Decisions
What is K-State Healthy Decisions (HD)?
K-State Healthy Decisions is an initiative that was started to help enhance the lifestyle of K-State students and their peers. We are enriching the culture of K-State and further developing an environment where students are supported and can succeed academically and personally.
Our website is where you can find information about K-State services, articles, brochures, student organizations, and more that are made available to you, as a K-State student. The resources are provided to help you succeed in all aspects of your life while you here.
To aid students in making healthy decisions in order to be successful while in college and after they graduate from K-State.
Wellness is defined as an active process of becoming aware of and making choices toward a more successful existence, or more simply, striving to be as healthy as you can be in all aspects of your life.
The Wellness Wheel is designed to provide a visual representation of the different aspects of life and demonstrates the need for balanced or well-rounded lives. If you are overly abundant in one area, you may lack in another causing problems in your life.
Student Advisory Board
We have a wonderful student board that is continuously working on developing ways to promote and market K-State HD and services on campus. The board provides information to students through a variety of avenues including:
- creating events throughout the year
- co-sponsoring with a variety of campus services and groups on campus
- presenting to classes, Greek houses, residence halls, and other groups
- supplying information through tabling at different events
- advertising with the Collegian, flyers around campus, weekly newsletters to our first-year listserv, and more
- continually updating our website with events, brochures, and resources
There are many opportunities for you to get involved with K-State HD. Additionally, our board is constantly changing to meet the needs of HD and the campus so if there is something that you would like to do that would meet the needs of campus and the board, you can create your own position description.
