Since opening in 1996 the Beach Museum of Art has become a vital part of Kansas State University's cultural life. It has the most space devoted to the widest variety of Kansas art in the state. In 1996 the museum held fewer than 1,600 works, acquired since the late 1920s. It now boasts more than 7,000 paintings, sculptures, and works on paper from the nineteenth to the twenty-first centuries.

Temporary exhibitions at the museum bring art and artists from around the world to Kansas State University. Examples of temporary exhibitions include bronzes from ancient China, Pulitzer Prize winning photographs, original illustrations from children's books, insect origami, and contemporary installations using computer animation and LED lights.

Classes in English, history, architecture, elementary education, and art regularly visit the museum as part of their curriculum.

The Student Friends of the Beach Museum of Art provides opportunities for students to support the museum through service projects and participation in special events. All students are welcome to join.

Located on the southeast corner of the Kansas State University campus, the museum is open Wednesday – Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 12-5. Admission is free.
