The K-State Bands are a student-musician-centered program that looks for potential in all – regardless of experience and background. If you possess the desire, talent, and a strong work ethic, then you are just what we are looking for.
The Concert Ensemble portion of our band program is diverse and eclectic. From the Wind Ensemble/Chamber Winds, Concert Band, University Band, and a variety of ensembles, we offer the best of large and small ensemble music worlds.
The diversity of the students participating in the Concert Ensembles makes for a truly unique experience for both our bands and the students themselves. You DO NOT have to be a music major to participate in ANY of the Concert Ensembles.
The Athletic Bands are the spirit of the Wildcat Nation! We are truly fortunate to have students from EVERY COLLEGE who represent the vast majority of different majors to represent our athletic bands. Again, you DO NOT have to be a music major to participate!
In regards to the Athletic Bands, we offer: a 300+ piece Marching Band (The "Pride of Wildcat Land"), two basketball Cat Bands, the Volleyball Band, and the "Pub Crawl" Band. All of these Athletic Bands enjoy spreading the "purple spirit" to all Wildcat Fans.
