103 Leadership Studies Building

The Staley School of Leadership Studies at Kansas State University is a value-centered learning community that provides undergraduate academic coursework and an array of programs that include student civic engagement and service-learning activities – all with the purpose of educating students for and about leadership.

What you should know about the School of Leadership Studies:

  • Our mission statement is "Developing knowledgeable, ethical, caring, inclusive leaders for a diverse and changing world."
  • Students can participate in the leadership studies minor, which offers a standard and nonprofit focus.
  • The minor takes 18 credit hours to complete and is interdisciplinary, meaning it will complement any academic major. All students, regardless of their majors or fields of study, will benefit from the study of leadership theory and practice of leadership skills learned in the minor.
  • Over 1,200 students are enrolled in the leadership studies minor, making it the largest academic program at K-State. Over 900 freshman enrolled in the first core class of the minor, LEAD 212: Introduction to Leadership Concepts.
  • We are more than just an academic minor. Leadership Studies serves as the home of service learning on campus. Join us to experience service first hand through programs like International Service Teams, Alternative Breaks, HandsOn Kansas State, Academic Mentoring and more!
  • The Leadership Studies Building just opened in January 2010 and is recognized as the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) GOLD certified building on campus.
