This year, new students will be required to take an online Math Placement Exam prior to attending their scheduled Orientation & Enrollment session. As an advisor, you will be able to access these scores and help advise your student on the most appropriate math course. See the "FAQs for Math Placement" Info Sheet below for more information.

FAQs for Math Placement Exam (PDF)

 

The possible scores on the Math Placement Exam range from 10 to 50 points.
Below is the suggested course recommendations for particular score ranges.

Please note that since this is the first time the exam is being offered, we will not have historical data that will allow us to concretely confirm the course recommendations as listed below. Please use information from ACT/SAT, transcripts and conversations with your students as you advise them for the appropriate selection of their math course.

 

Algebra Exam

<15 Math Review
15-20 Intermediate Algebra
21-39 College Algebra
40-50 General Calculus or Trigonometry

Calculus Exam

9-20 Trigonometry
21-39 Calculus 1

40-50 Calculus 2
