A Season for Nonviolence:
64 Days 64 Ways to Practice Nonviolence
January 30th - April 4th EACH YEAR

Why 64 Days?
A Season for Nonviolence started as a national 64-day educational, media, and grassroots campaign dedicated to demonstrating that nonviolence is a powerful way to heal, transform, and empower our lives and our communities. Inspired by the 50th and 30th memorial anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., this international event honors their vision for an empowered, nonviolent world.

List of 64 ways to practice nonviolence .

The Campaign for Nonviolence poster lists 64 ways each of us as individuals can work towards nonviolence in ourselves and in our communities. Groups and individuals can show support for nonviolence by wearing a Season for Nonviolence T-shirt each Wednesday during the Season (Jan.30-Apr.4). T-shirts can be obtained by donating money to the Campaign for Nonviolence; groups who co-sponsor the t-shirts will be acknowledged on the website during the Season. Help our community learn altervatives to violence in our lives!

Schedule of activities during the Season for Nonviolence

Each Spring the Campaign for Nonviolence sponsors the showing of several films dealing with the world-wide movement for nonviolence and encourages discussion of the issues presented in the films. But there are many other activities offered through out the campus during this season. Check out our calendar and the Nonviolence Education and Action page for more information!
