Wilma Mankiller was the first woman elected principal chief of the Cherokee Nation. She works to improve the lives of Native Americans by helping them receive better education and health care and urges them to preserve and take pride in their traditions. (notablebiographies.com). She will be visiting Kansas State for a presentation on Friday April 3 if all goes according to plan. She will be the keynote speaker of the K-State Diversity Summit and will be speaking in the K-State Union Ballroom, at a time yet to be determined. Clear your schedule and come join us to hear one of the most influential women of Native American descent.

We should also look forward to an April 4th softball tournament hosted at K-State Salina, with more detail to come.
