Day 1: Introduction
· Will pass out study guides and assign the students reading.
· Students are to read assigned pages so they have some idea what the material.
· Primary focus areas will be in the study guide.
o Study guide follows the readings pretty closely

Group Presentation (Review of First 14)
The goal of this activity is to make sure everyone stays involved, and has a firm grasp of the reading assignment.
· Assign each group 2(3) topics and have them discuss the material.
· Students may consult the book and each other while they find the answers.
· This is a great time to fill out the study guides.
· Each student needs to participate, and every student play an active role
Final Listening
Example:
Great segue for the next portion of reading, and gives the students time to listen from both early and late Baroque. By doing this, students know the style and origins of the music.

Closing:
Assign reading for the next evening. Be sure students know the importance of reading, and what is to be expected for the next class period.
