Amy Rosine, soprano, is Assistant Professor of Voice at Kansas State University. She teaches applied voice, vocal techniques and serves as vocal coach for the K-State Players Broadway musicals. She holds degrees from University of Kansas (DMA), University of Missouri-Kansas City (MM), and Truman State University (BME).
An active recitalist, Dr. Rosine premiered 5 songs of E.E. Cummings, written for her by composer Robert Tucker, and in November 2003 she was selected to perform Green Eggs and Ham by Robert Kapilow for the TEXOMA Regional NATS Convention in Abilene, Texas. She staged this work and collaborated with the Howard Payne University Chamber Ensemble. Most recently she has been touring a recital of music for soprano and clarinet, with Dr. Sandra Mosteller. In 2006 they were featured on the Sigma Alpha Iota National Convention in Orlando.
Dr. Rosine has performed with the Civic Opera of Kansas City, including the role of Goodwife in Conrad Sousas The Wise Women, which was taped for Missouri Public Television and released on video. She has also performed with the Northland Symphony, United Methodist Masterworks Society benefit concert for Habitat for Humanity, Lyric Opera Express and the Nebraska Choral Arts Society. A participant of Opera in the Ozarks, she was a featured performer for the Kansas Federation of Music Clubs convention in Wichita Kansas. Recently moving from Texas, she performed with Regal Opera, Lyric Theatre of Dallas, Ft. Worth Opera and Brownwood Regional Theatre. She is a recipient of the Alpha Corrine Mayfield Award in Opera Performance from the National Federation of Music Clubs, and has performed with the St. Charles Music and Arts Festival, Lake Placid Institute Vocal Seminar and Opera in the Ozarks.
A successful teacher, Dr. Rosine has served on the faculties of Texas Womans University, Howard Payne University, Rockhurst College, and St. Mary University. She also taught K-12 music in the Adair Co R-II school system in Missouri. She has graduated students who are attending graduate school, teaching or performing professionally and her high school students have made the All-State Choirs in Missouri and Texas. Professional organizations include Sigma Alpha Iota, where she served as Kappa C Province Officer from 2004-2007, and the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
