Dr. Joshua Oppenheim is Co-Director of Choral Activities at Kansas State University where he oversees a program consisting of 7 ensembles and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in conducting, choral methods and choral literature.  He received his B.M. in Choral Conducting from Western Michigan University. After successful teaching in elementary, middle and high schools in Michigan, he was a Teaching Fellow at the University of Mississippi where he earned his M.M. in Choral Conducting. He subsequently served as director of the Music Department at Arkansas State University-Beebe, before beginning his D.M.A. in Choral Conducting at the University of North Texas. While at North Texas he taught courses in Choral Conducting and conducted the 120-voice U.N.T. Men’s Chorus. In 2005, He founded the semi-professional chamber ensemble, “In Voce,” based in Dallas, Texas. From 2006-2008 he was on faculty at the Crane School of Music where he conducted the 75-voice Crane Men’s Ensemble, the Potsdam Community Choir and the 150-voice Crane Chorus and Orchestra. He also taught undergraduate and graduate courses in choral conducting and literature. While at Crane, the Crane Men’s Ensemble was invited to perform at the New York State School Music Association Convention in Rochester, NY.  He has presented sessions at numerous ACDA conferences in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina as well as the Western and Southwestern Divisional ACDA conventions.
