Jennifer Edwards, Associate Professor of Voice at Kansas State University, is a mezzo soprano. She is head of the Voice Division, teaches studio voice, supervises the Voice Class and Vocal Techniques Programs, and is the vocal coach for K-State Players Broadway musical productions each Fall.

Prof. Edwards holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in vocal performance from Stephen F. Austin University, a Master of Music Degree in vocal performance from the University of Oregon, and a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the Conservatory of Music of the University of Missouri at Kansas City.

A recitalist and oratorio soloist, Prof. Edwards has performed throughout the Midwest in appearances with the Dayton Bach Society, The Kansas City Chamber Orchestra, The Wichita Symphony Serenade Concerts, and The Reno Choral Society. Operatic roles include Cherubino in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, the Principessa in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, Carmen in Bizet’s Carmen, and Elizabeth in Robert Ward’s The Crucible. She was a member of the ensemble cast of the musical, Quilters, a production of Opening Night Theater, which toured for two years throughout the state of Kansas. She also sang the role of the Mother in the same company's production of Amahl and the Night Visitors.

She has toured with her husband, pianist/organist Robert Edwards, and trumpeter Craig Parker in recitals of music for organ, trumpet, and voice. The three have performed in major churches in Colorado Springs, New York City, New Orleans, and Topeka. For ten years Prof. Edwards was the director of music ministry at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and is currently Assistant Liturgist.

Students from her voice studio have been finalists in the National Association of Teachers of Singing auditions and have performed major roles in opera and music theater at K-State and in the professional arena. Many of her students are voice teachers and music educators at both the collegiate level and in the public schools. She also enjoys working with talented High School singers. Prof. Edwards has served as Student Auditions Chairman and is in her second term as governor of the West Central Region of The National Association of Teachers of Singing. She is also a member of Music Teachers National Association, and Kansas Music Teachers Association.
