Donald Linn currently servers as the Assistant Director of Bands at K-State. His duties include directing the concert band, university pep-bands, co-directing the marching band, and teaching courses in conducting, arranging, and marching band techniques. Prior to his appointment at K-State, he served as the interim Associate Director of Bands at Youngstown State University where he was director of the YSU Marching Pride. Prior to his appointment at YSU, Mr. Linn completed a M.M. in Wind Conducting at Ball State University under Dr. Thomas Caneva. Before graduate study, Mr. Linn taught in the public schools as the director of bands at Nottoway High School in Crewe, VA. While teaching in Virginia, Mr. Linn received a Presidential Citation for Teaching Excellence from the University of Richmond Governor’s School. Mr. Linn earned his bachelor’s degree in music education from Virginia Tech. Mr. Linn is in demand as a drill writer and arranger and his shows have been featured in Virginia, Indiana, Missouri, New York, Ohio, North Carolina, Alabama, Kansas and Toronto. Mr. Linn is a member of MENC, the International Trumpet Guild, the National Band Association, CBDNA, Pi Kappa Lambda, and Phi Mu Alpha.
