How to prepare for a scholarship audition
- Prepare your music in advance, something that includes both slow and fast passages.
- Prepare to play a major scale and do some sight-reading.
- Contact the Department of Music, Scholarships and get a time for an audition. Typically they are on special days, but also can be arranged, if needed.
- Plan to arrive early, find out from Dr. Maxwell where to park and warmup.
- Dress for success! (look and sound good)
- Bring your GPA, ACT score, and enthusiasm. Scholarships are based on your grades, test scores, playing ability, and attitude.
