About Islam

A muslim believes in seven articles:

  1. Tawhid - Belief in Allah, the one and only one worthy of all worship.
  2. Nabi and Rusul - Belief in all the Prophets (nabi) and Messengers (rusul) sent by God.
  3. Kutub - Belief in the Books sent by God, which are Quran, Tawra, Injil and Zabur.
  4. Mala'ika - Belief in the Angels.
  5. Qiyama - Belief in the Day of Judgement.
  6. Life after death - Belief in the Resurrection.
  7. Qadar - Belief in Destiny (Fate).

And there are five pillars of Islam (Islamic practices):

  1. Shahadah - The Testimony of Faith, the declaration that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is his messenger.
  2. Salat - establishing of the five daily Prayers.
  3. Zakat - Obligatory (religious) almsgiving.
  4. Sawm - Fasting during certain periods in Islamic calender.
  5. Hajj - The Pilgrimage to Mecca.

The three most holy places of Islam are:

  1. Al-Masjid al-Haram, Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
  2. Masjid-e-Nabwi, Madina, Saudi Arabia.
  3. Al-Haram al-Qudsi al-Sharif, Jerusalem.
