Emphasis in Infectious Diseases/Zoonoses


The primary objective is to prepare leaders for zoonoses protection programs, investigation of new and emerging infectious diseases, strengthening the public’s ability to respond to bioterrorism and biosecurity emergencies, and coordinating rapid response activities among government, agriculture industries, non-profit organizations, and academia. Note: Up to 12 credit hours from an AVMA accredited College of Veterinary Medicine DVM curriculum may be applied to the MPH degree requirements, one of them being DMP 708 (or equivalent epidemiology course).

“Core” requirements (16 credit hours)

  • KIN 818 – Social and Behavioral Basis of Public Health (3 hours)
