The Department of Modern Languages strongly encourages students to study abroad. Through the numerous programs available directly via our department, and through the Office of International Programs, students can broaden their horizons, apply what they learn in the classroom, expand their knowledge of culture and language, while earning credits toward their degree. Studying abroad allows students to further their education not only in their language degree, but also in whatever other major they might be enrolled in. Many students in Architecture, for example, benefit from exchanges with the Czech Republic, students can get a basic knowledge of Czech before going through our department. Studying abroad can be fun, exciting, and separate you from others on the job market.
