Military and families

Military-connected students like you have been a cornerstone of our campus for more than 150 years. With our land-grant mission, strong connections to forts Riley and Leavenworth, and strong military-based programs and resources, it's no surprise K-State is home to the state's largest number of military-connected students. Come join us!

President Linton

Welcome from President Linton

Welcome to K-State!

One of the central tenets of our land-grant university's original mission statement from 1863 is a pledge to teach military tactics. That pledge has held fast for more than 150 years, and today Kansas State University is home to the state’s largest military population in higher education.

Our goal for this website is to show you what K-State has to offer military-connected students, including the many offices dedicated to helping you navigate college life, in one convenient place.

Our commitment to serving those who serve is made clear through our military research, active connections with military partners and alumni, and service and outreach programs with Fort Riley and Fort Leavenworth. We’re proud to claim the Military Affairs Innovation Center, the Institute for the Health and Security of Military Families and several notable degree programs, and to offer important support services that help military-connected students and their families find success.

Please reach out to any of the dedicated people you’ll find contact information for here, and we hope you’ll join the Wildcat Family!

Sincerely,
Richard Linton, president
