Scholarships

Application

New and Transfer students:

New and transfer multicultural students in engineering are eligible for scholarships upon their acceptance to K-State. Awards are based on a student's prior achievements in high school or previously attended college or university.  Many scholarships are awarded to minority students. These awards are made possible through the generous contributions of MEP corporate sponsors and other donors who are supportive of MEP activities.

  • Submit the general scholarship application directly to the Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA).  Use the web (www.ksu.edu/sfa).  Make sure your high school counselors verifies your GPA and test scores.  Return the completed form to the Office of Student Financial Assistance (104 Fairchild Hall, KSU, Manhattan KS 66506). This should be done by November 1.

  • Send a copy of your high school transcript directly to the scholarship coordinator in the College of Engineering. Either fax (785-532-7810) or submit by mail (1046 Rathbone Hall, KSU, Manhattan, KS 66506-5104). This should be done when submitting the scholarship application to the OSFA.

  • Apply to K-State for admission. Use the web (www.ksu.edu/admit). Send the admission fee directly to the Admission’s office (119 Anderson Hall, KSU, Manhattan KS 66506). Be sure to indicate engineering as your major. This will ensure that you will be on all engineering lists and receive all engineering mailings. This should be done as soon as possible.

  • If you have questions, please call Patricia Berens at(785) 532-5590 or email  paberens@ksu.edu

Deadlines

NOVEMBER 1, 2007:  KSU Kassebaum, Presidential, Putnam, Honors, Foundation, Millennium, Leadership, Medallion, Achievement, and Activity Scholarship Deadline

FEBRUARY 1, 2008: Engineering Priority Deadline & University General Deadline

It is recommended that the scholarship application be submitted early to the Office of Student Financial Assistance and transcript to the College of Engineering. This will assure timely processing of student information. One application for both deadlines is all that is necessary at Kansas State University.

Students, parents, and the MEP staff are thankful that the scholarship sponsors believe in our program and students. Scholarship funds are necessary to provide the incentive for academic excellence.
