14TH ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP EXPO AND WORKSHOP SEPT. 30

MANHATTAN -- The 14th annual Kansas State University Scholarship Expo and Workshop will be 3:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, in the K-State Student Union Ballroom.

The event, sponsored by the office of non-traditional and veteran student services, the office of student financial assistance and the Union Program Council, will give participating colleges, offices, departments and organizations the opportunity to demonstrate their dedication to student success and promote scholarship opportunities for current K-State students.

Students can browse the K-State Scholarship Expo and Workshop to learn about various campus and community scholarship opportunities. They can also attend a presentation to learn how to identify scholarship sources and submit winning scholarship applications.

Last year more than 275 students attended the expo and workshop. Due to the current state of the economy, an increase in attendance for this year’s event is anticipated.

The schedule for the expo and workshop will be:

* 3:30-4 p.m. -- Students can look around the K-State Scholarship Expo, learning about various campus and community scholarship opportunities.

* 4-4:30 p.m. -- Ben Kohl, assistant director for the office of student financial assistance, will show students how to identify scholarship sources and submit winning scholarship applications.

At the end of the presentation two students will each win a $200 scholarship, funded by the Division of Student Life. Students must be present to win.
