NEARLY 200 EMPLOYERS PLAN TO ATTEND ALL-UNIVERSITY CAREER FAIR

MANHATTAN -- Kansas State University students are drawing the attention of prospective employers.

Representatives from nearly 200 companies, industries, agencies and more are registered for K-State's All-University Career Fair, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, and Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Bramlage Coliseum.

The fair is for K-State students, but also is open to members of the Manhattan community.

Cerner, Koch Industries and State Street are among the employers who will attend the fair. A full list of participating employers can be found at http://www.k-state.edu/ces and by selecting "My CES Account." After logging in, click the "Career Fairs and Events" tab, and then select "Career Fair" to get an up-to-date list of registered employers.

With increasing job competition, it's important that career fair attendees dress professionally and bring multiple copies of their resume, according to Dottie Evans, associate director of employer and university relations for K-State career and employment services.

Qualified candidates may be offered an interview after visiting employers at the fair. Next-day interviews will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 22 and 23 in the K-State Student Union Ballroom.

A shuttle bus will run between the Union and Bramlage Coliseum every 20 minutes. The shuttle begins service at 10:45 a.m. and continues until 4 p.m. both days of the fair.

Career and employment services will have a program prior to the fair for students who may not have the funds to purchase professional attire. The Career Closet will be available in Holtz Hall Sept. 15, 16 and 17. Information about Career Closet hours is available at http://www.k-state.edu/ces by selecting the "Special Events" tab.
