BOB KRAUSE TO DEVOTE FULL-TIME EFFORTS TO INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS
MANHATTAN -- Kansas State University announced today that Bob Krause, who has been serving as vice president for institutional advancement and director of intercollegiate athletics since April 2008, will be devoting his full time efforts to his responsibilities as director of athletics beginning Oct. 1.
The athletic department announced earlier this month that a project architect for its major $70 million facilities expansion had been selected and should begin the final design and construction document process in October. This, along with the Wildcat Victory Campaign, the private fundraising for the project, will place even heavier time demands on Krause than have existed over the last six months.
As a member of the Big 12 Conference, the success of its intercollegiate athletic program is an important priority for the current and future well-being of Kansas State University. Over the past half year, it has become evident that the university's needs and priorities can best be served by putting Krause in a position where he can totally focus his skills and energies on leading the department and implementing a successful facilities expansion and fundraising campaign.
