ONLINE EDUCATION EXPERT TO LECTURE ON MILEPOSTS TO DISTANCE LEARNING IN K-STATE PRESENTATION
MANHATTAN -- An expert on distance learning will conduct an interactive lecture on the need for training and support to ensure high quality online university courses as part of the third annual Axio Learning Conference at Kansas State University.
Darcy W. Hardy of the University of Texas TeleCampus will present "Sometimes Good is Good Enough – Sometimes It's Not" at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, in the Flint Hills Room of the K-State Student Union. Her lecture is sponsored by K-State's Division of Continuing Education and office of mediated education.
Hardy, assistant vice chancellor for academic affairs, will focus on the need for faculty and staff to have appropriate training to develop and deliver the best online courses possible.
The UT TeleCampus offers nearly 20 fully online programs that accommodate 12,000 enrollments annually.
Under Hardy’s direction, the operation has been honored with more than two dozen regional and national awards and has been recognized nationally as a model and benchmark for multicampus, collaborative online programming.
