CLAREMONT TRIO TO PERFORM AT K-STATE'S MCCAIN AUDITORIUM
MANHATTAN -- The Claremont Trio, a premier piano trio, will perform as part of the 2008-09 McCain Performance Series at Kansas State University. The trio's performance will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, in McCain Auditorium.
Twin sisters Emily Bruskin, violin, and Julia Bruskin, cello, formed the trio with Donna Kwon, piano, in 1999 at the Julliard School in New York City. The trio has gained attention by performing with a very aggressive style. Performances feature sections where individual instruments are spotlighted, but also contain ensemble work.
The trio has won numerous awards, including a coveted Young Concert Artists Award in 2001 and the first Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award in 2003.
Works to be performed by the trio for the McCain show include Haydn's Trio in G major, Schoenfield's "Cafe Music" and Dvorak's Trio in F minor.
Tickets for the Claremont Trio performance are on sale now. Prices start at $10.50 for K-State students and $21 for the general public. Discounts also are available for seniors, children, military and K-State faculty and staff. To order tickets call the McCain box office at 785-532-6428 or order online at http://www.k-state.edu/mccain/
