K-STATE'S ACCOUNTING HALL OF FAME INDUCTS ERNST & YOUNG PARTNER
MANHATTAN -- Randy G. Fletchall, an Ernst & Young partner and the chair-elect of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, has been named to the Kansas State University Accounting Hall of Fame.
The selection was made by the K-State College of Business Administration's accounting faculty, led by Richard Ott, department head.
"Mr. Fletchall was selected for this honor because his accomplishments and character reflect the true spirit of the accounting program and the College of Business Administration at K-State," Ott said.
"He serves as a role model for students currently in our program and to recent graduates just beginning a career. His achievements illustrate the potential of a professional in the field of accounting."
Fletchall received a bachelor's degree in finance in 1974 and a master's degree in business administration in 1976, both from K-State. Originally from Hutchinson, he is a 1970 graduate of Hutchinson High School.
Now based in New York, Fletchall is a member of Ernst & Young's Americas Executive and is a vice chair in the firm's national office. He spent the first 20 years of his career serving commercial banking clients.
In October 2006, Fletchall was named vice chair of the board of directors for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Fletchall has served as a board member since 2003.
The department of accounting began the K-State Accounting Hall of Fame to recognize alumni of the program who have achieved positions of leadership in the business world and in their communities. Fletchall joins 12 other distinguished alumni in the hall of fame. Previous inductees include chief financial officers, chief executive officers and vice presidents of major corporations, as well as partners in accounting firms.
Ernst & Young has 114,000 employees in 140 countries, providing a broad array of accounting and other financial services.
