Media advisory: Arrangements for Oct. 21 Landon Forum with seven past U.S. secretaries of agriculture

PARTICIPANTS: Seven past U.S. secretaries of agriculture will present in a Q-and-A format from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, at McCain Auditorium. The secretaries are Mike Johanns, Ann Veneman, Dan Glickman, Mike Espy, Clayton Yeutter, John Block and Ed Schafer.

NEWS MEDIA SEATING: Media can find reserved seats in the front row on the right side of the auditorium and in the back row on the right side near the audio distribution box. News media photographers will not be allowed to roam during the lecture. If you plan to attend the lecture you must email media@k-state.edu or call 785-532-2535 by Friday, Oct. 11, to reserve a seat.

NEWS MEDIA PARKING: After 5 p.m., media may park in any nonreserved or nonhandicap student or faculty/staff space near McCain Auditorium. Other parking options include the K-State parking garage, south of the K-State Student Union, where parking is $1.50 an hour on a space-available basis. Please allow ample time for parking.

CREDENTIALS: Although credentials are not required for the lecture, please bring your media identification with you in case it becomes necessary.

SECURITY: Media should be prepared to have camera bags, computer bags and the like searched when entering the hall.

LECTURE TEXT: Because of the Q-and-A format, prepared text of the lecture will NOT be available beforehand.

SATELLITE FEED: There will be NO satellite feed of video and sound bites from the lecture.

MEDIA AVAILABILITY: The secretaries will be available to answer questions from the media between 9 and 9:15 p.m. Media will come to the front row of the audience seating area, and the secretaries will return to the stage for questions. An audio distribution box will be available.
