K-STATE'S CHARLES REAGAN TO SERVE ON BOARD OF NATIONAL BUSINESS AVIATION ASSOCIATION
MANHATTAN -- Kansas State University's Charles Reagan, associate to the president, has been confirmed as a new member of the board of directors of the National Business Aviation Association.
Reagan's election was made official at the association's recent 61st annual meeting and convention in Orlando, Fla. He will serve a three-year term on the 18-member board.
"The National Business Aviation Association's board of directors remains focused on considering eligible candidates for the board who, in addition to having a working knowledge of the association and the issues affecting the aviation business community, can help ensure diversity in terms of geography, size of company, and professional expertise and experiences, said Jeff Lee, chair of the association's board.
Reagan joins the board with more than 40 years of experience in both aviation and education. As associate to the K-State president, Reagan also serves as captain for the university's Cessna CitationJet. A professor of philosophy and aviation, Reagan is a commuter airline pilot, charter pilot and flight instructor. His work in aviation was recognized with the Kansas Governor's Aviation Award in 2007.
At K-State, Reagan also serves as chair of the university's prestigious Landon Lecture Series.
A 1964 graduate of Holy Cross College in Worcester, Mass., Reagan received his master's degree from the University of Kansas in 1966, and in 1967 he became the first person to earn a doctorate in philosophy from KU. In addition, Reagan studied at the Institute de'etudes europeennes and the University of Paris. In the mid-1970s, Reagan was a researcher in Paris and a Fulbright visiting professor at the University of Toulouse. He is a specialist in French philosophy and is a biographer and expert on the famous French philosopher Paul Ricoeur. Reagan also is the author of six books and numerous articles.
