K-STATE THEATER PRESENTS 'SCAPINO!'
MANHATTAN -- The theater program at Kansas State University will present the play "Scapino!" at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 1-3 in East Stadium's Purple Masque Theater.
"Scapino!" is the tale of two pairs of young lovers, two interfering fathers, a bum, a nurse, three waiters, a page and one particular trickster. In a single night, the trickster turns the world on its ear and must find away to put everything back together again and avoid going to jail. The play was written by Frank Dunlop and Jim Dale.
"Scapino!" is a show for all audiences. Tickets are $4 for students and $7 for the general public. They can be purchased at the McCain Auditorium box office from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays or from the K-State Student Union's Little Theatre box office from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. weekdays. Phone orders can be made by calling 785-532-6428 during box office hours.
K-State students are involved in all aspects of the production, from fulfilling roles in the cast to being members of the crew, including designing costumes and stage sets and handling lighting and sound.

Terrence Reese, freshman in chemical engineering, Fort Leavenworth, as Leandro; Grady Bolding, sophomore in theater, Great Bend, as Geronte; Laura Lindsay, sophomore in theater, stage manager, and Tyler Stout, junior in theater, sound designer, both of Hillsboro; Megan Hallinan, freshman in pre-professional business administration, Lansing, as a waitress; Joseph Wittenburg, senior in humanities, as Argante, and Ashley Kings, sophomore in art, as Zerbinetta, both of Leavenworth; Courtney Kivett, freshman in open option, Lenexa, as a nurse.
From Manhattan: Yasu Ishida, graduate student in theater, as the head waiter; Eric Voecks, junior in theater, director; and Ray Cherenfant, junior in theater, as Scapino.
Kate Hambleton, freshman in theater, Olathe, as Sylvestra; Kelly Lucas, senior in English, Sublette, lighting design; Brandon Champagne, freshman in theater, Topeka, set design.
