TRAFFIC
ASSISTANCE SERVICES FOR KANSAS COURSE OFFERINGS SCHEDULED
MANHATTAN
-- Kansas State University and the University of Kansas, in cooperation
with the Federal Highway Administration, the National Highway Traffic
Safety Administration and the Kansas Department of Transportation,
have set the 2006-2007 schedule of course offerings for Traffic
Assistance Services for Kansas.
Each
course will be offered as a one-day or half-day course. The fees
for each course vary, and continuing education units are available.
The
course schedule by location includes:

Hutchinson -- Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Technicians,
Dec. 19; Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities/Traffic Calming, Dec.
20; and Traffic Engineering for Technicians, Dec. 21.
*
Norton -- Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Technicians,
May 15, 2007; Geometric Design for Very Low Volume Local Roads,
May 16, 2007; and Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for
Emergency Response Personnel, May 17.
*
Topeka -- Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Technicians,
March 20, 2007; Low Cost Safety Improvements, March 21, 2007; Manual
on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Emergency Response Personnel,
March 22, 2007;
*
Wichita -- Design of Modern Roundabouts, Oct. 24.
Course
instructors include Robert W. Stokes, professor of civil engineering
at K-State; Edward J. Myers, senior principal, Kittelson and Associates
Inc.; Thomas E. Mulinazzi, professor of civil engineering at KU;
Ron Seitz, assistant bureau chief, Bureau of Local Projects, Kansas
Department of Transportation; and Lynn Berges, traffic safety engineer,
Bureau of Local Projects, Kansas Department of Transportation.
