Social Entrepreneurship Symposium for Kansas City-area professionals features area entrepreneurs

MANHATTAN -- Professionals in the Kansas City area are invited to attend Kansas State University's Social Entrepreneurship Interactive Symposium.

The symposium will be from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Kansas State University Olathe, 22201 W. Innovation Drive. It is part of the College of Business Administration's Professional Education Series at K-State Olathe.

The symposium will feature Kansas City social entrepreneurs Christina Eldridge, co-founder and CEO of Red Dirt Shop; Jon Kohrs, Stand Up for Good; and Habte Mesfin, Revocup Coffee Roasters. Also at the symposium will be Chad Jackson, interim director of the Center for the Advancement of Entrepreneurship at Kansas State University.

Activities include an interactive session designed to facilitate networking between participants, sharing of social entrepreneurship experiences and interests, and allowing participants to learn from social entrepreneurship practitioners. Small group discussions with each of the panelists will be offered as well.

The symposium will provide attendees with tools to make social entrepreneurship projects successful, including networking opportunities with professionals in the field and discussions on global trends and challenges in entrepreneurship.

Kansas State University's College of Business Administration, which is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, offers six undergraduate majors; two minors; Master of Business Administration, Professional Master of Business Administration and Master of Accountancy programs; and three graduate certificate programs in leadership, business administration and animal health organization management. The college also offers the Kansas City area professional education opportunities in conjunction with Kansas State University's Division of Continuing Education and K-State Olathe.
