K-STATE DANCE PROGRAM PRESENTS ANNUAL WINTERDANCE
MANHATTAN -- The dance program at Kansas State University will present "WinterDance 2007" Nov. 29-Dec. 1 in Nichols Hall. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, and Friday, Nov. 30, and at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1.
WinterDance will feature a variety of dance styles, from jazz to tap to modern dance to ballet. Original dance pieces choreographed by dance faculty Julie Pentz, assistant professor, and Joyce Yagerline, associate professor, also will be performed, as well as dance pieces choreographed by Nora Sobering, junior in dance, Manhattan, and Susan Rieger, professional guest artist.
Rieger is the artistic director of the 940 Dance Company in Lawrence. She visited K-State in September and October to choreograph a modern dance for the WinterDance performance and to teach classes in modern dance.
Tickets cost $8 for students and children; $11 for seniors and the military; and $13 for the general public. They can be purchased in advance at K-State's McCain Auditorium box office from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays; by calling 785-532-6428; or online at http://www.k-state.edu/mccain
