K-STATE'S 'WINTERDANCE 2006' TO FEATURE ARRAY OF STYLES

MANHATTAN -- Kansas State University dance students will present a variety of modern, jazz, ballet, tap dance and international dance pieces at "WinterDance 2006."

Performances will be at 8 p.m. Nov. 16-18 in Nichols Theatre, with a 2 p.m. matinee Nov. 18.

To order tickets, call or visit the McCain box office from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at 785-532-6428 or online at http://www.k-state.edu/mccain/

Tickets also are available from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the K-State Student Union Little Theatre box office.

In addition to student dancers and choreographers, "WinterDance" will feature guest artist Laura Donnelly, dance professor at the University of Arizona. Donnelly was the first student to graduate from the K-State dance program.

Students performing in "WinterDance 2006" include:

Monette McKeeman, senior in kinesiology, Abilene; Leslie Prichard, senior in life sciences, Arkansas City; Autumn Scoggan, freshman in pre-professional elementary education, Beloit; Sarah Rothfuss, junior in business administration-pre-professional, Concordia.

From Greater Kansas City: Saylor Burgess, senior in theater, Leawood; Melinda Von Elling, freshman in pre-journalism and mass communications, Lenexa; Shannon Connolly, sophomore in anthropology, Julie Hartman, junior in pre-professional elementary education, and Jen Mayekawa, junior in modern languages, all of Overland Park; and Hallie Friend, junior in sociology, and Jaymie Jenks, freshman in music, both of Shawnee.

Kelsey Zirkle, senior in theater, Harper; Vicky Henning, senior in elementary education, Hays; Kaylene Schirmer, sophomore in arts and sciences-open option, Holton; Price Messick, senior in theater, Hutchinson.

From Manhattan: Angela Johnson, fifth-year undergraduate in architecture; Renae Johnston, senior in theater; Lindsey Liotta, freshman in business administration-pre-professional; Elizabeth Uthoff, freshman in theater; and Alex Zolnerowich, freshman in theater.

Whitney Wear, sophomore in psychology, Marion; Kristal Huehl, freshman in theater, Salina; Jennifer Karlan, sophomore in arts and sciences-open option, and Elizabeth Schafer, senior in athletic training, both of Topeka; and Shawn Fisher, senior in life sciences, and Julie Powell, junior in accounting, both of Wichita.

From Missouri: Lauren Foerster, senior in interior design, Kirkwood; and Annie Tipton, sophomore in mechanical engineering, Smithville.

From Nebraska: Erin Kolarik, junior in mass communications, Bellevue; Gabrielle James, senior in marketing, and Brin Miller, freshman in arts and sciences-open option, both of Lincoln; and Callie Peterson, senior in theater, and Jacquelyn Young, senior in theater, both of Omaha.
