ADULTS
INVITED TO PRINTMAKING WORKSHOP NOV. 30 AT K-STATE'S MARIANNA KISTLER
BEACH MUSEUM OF ART
MANHATTAN
-- The Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art at Kansas State
University wants you to act like a kid again.
The
museum is having a printmaking workshop for adults from 7-8:30 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 30, at the museum. Participants will first learn
the process of making linoleum block prints and then take part in
printmaking projects that they may take home and use. Nice paper
suitable for stationary or greeting cards will be provided.
The
workshop is designed to be similar to the childrens printmaking
workshop the museum offers, "The Creative Place: Children and
Their Art," because several adults and parents of the children
who participated commented about how much fun the children had and
wished they could participate, too.
"In
last year's workshop the most popular use for their prints were
greeting cards and stationary," said Kathrine Schlageck, the
museum's education and public services supervisor. "They typically
want something that they can use after they leave here, especially
since the holiday season is right around the corner."
The
cost per person for the adult printmaking workshop is $5, and reservations
are required. To reserve a spot call the Beach Museum of Art at
785-532-7718.
The
museum, at 14th Street and Anderson Avenue, is open from 10 a.m.
to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, and from 1-5 p.m. Saturdays
and Sundays. Admission is free, and complimentary visitor parking
is available adjacent to the facility.
