K-STATE'S
MCCAIN PERFORMANCE SERIES TO PRESENT 'THE HOLLYWOOD NUTCRACKER'
MANHATTAN
-- State Street Ballet will present "The Hollywood Nutcracker"
Friday, Dec. 1, at 7:30 p.m. in McCain Auditorium. The presentation
is part of Kansas State University's McCain Performance Series.
Drawing
inspiration from 1930s' Hollywood, choreographer Rodney Gustafson
infuses Tchaikovsky's holiday classic with wit and style to create
a fresh twist on the traditional ballet. Luxurious Art Deco dreamscapes,
glamorous costumes and exciting adventures make the ballet fun for
all ages.
State
Street Ballet is a professional ballet company dedicated to presenting
new work in dance while preserving the classics.
Tickets
can be purchased at http://www.k-state.edu/mccain
or by calling the McCain box office at 785-532-6428 between 11 a.m.
and 5 p.m. weekdays.
The
performance is sponsored by Mercy Regional Health Center. Additional
support is provided by the Kansas Arts Commission, the National
Endowment for the Arts and the K-State fine arts fee. It also is
supported by the Friends of McCain.
