K-STATE'S
MULTICULTURAL STUDENT HONOR SOCIETY INDUCTS NEW MEMBERS
MANHATTAN
-- Kansas State University's Multicultural Student Honor Society
gained new members recently. The society recognizes the academic
achievements of multicultural students at K-State.
"The
Multicultural Student Honor Society was founded in 1999 to honor
the academic achievements of multicultural students who have been
successful at K-State," said Carla Jones, assistant vice president
and senior associate dean of student life and the chair of the honor
society's advisory board. "We wanted to reward students who
have been academically successful."
Students
who have a cumulative K-State grade point average of 3.0 or greater
and transfer students at the sophomore level with one K-State semester
are eligible to join the honor society.
New
members include:
Lacey
Carlson, junior in family studies and human services, Cassoday;
Lizette Vargas, senior in psychology, Dodge City;
and Cheryl Elligan, senior in education-English, Fort Riley.
From
Greater Kansas City: Lauren Bock, senior in apparel and textiles,
Kansas City, Kan.; Francisco Morales, sophomore in anthropology,
Lenexa; and Whitney Brueggemann, sophomore in apparel and
textiles, and Dominique Rogers, junior in biology, both of Olathe.
Matthew
Garcia, sophomore in hotel and restaurant management, Haviland.
From
Junction City: Elisha Fields, senior in pre-professional
elementary education; Christina Figueroa-Ison, senior in pre-professional
secondary education; and Tiffany Smith, senior in psychology.
