K-STATE'S BEACH MUSEUM OF ART INVITING FAMILIES TO HOLIDAY ART WORKSHOP

MANHATTAN -- The Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art at Kansas State University is livening up the holiday season with its annual Holiday Family Art Workshop from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3.

Families are encouraged to bring their children to create holiday cards and small gifts. Participants may bring personal items like photographs to make their creations unique. The event is sponsored by the Student Friends of the Beach Museum of Art.

"Seeing the children's faces light up when they create things really pulls on your heartstrings," said Jake Perkinson, sophomore in fine arts, Salina, and president of the Student Friends of the Beach Museum of Art. "It's really heartwarming to be a part of helping them make the gifts."

Admission is $5 per person, and Beach Buddies get in for half-price. Reservations are not required. For more information, call the museum at 785-532-7718.

The Beach Museum of Art, 14th Street and Anderson Avenue, is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and from 1-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Admission is free, and complimentary visitor parking is available adjacent to the facility. More information about the museum is available at http://www.k-state.edu/bma
