LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE STUDENT FROM MANHATTAN RECEIVES GOLF COURSE
SCHOLARSHIP
MANHATTAN
-- Daryn Soldan, graduate student in landscape architecture, Manhattan,
is receiving a $1,000 Golf Course Builders Association of America
scholarship for 2006-2007.
The
Golf Course Builders Association of America Scholarship Program
is a mentoring program that offers summer jobs and internships to
college students who want a career in construction-related segments
of the golf industry. Each year, it establishes scholarships at
selected universities. The program is funded by the Golf Course
Builders Association of America Foundation.
Candidates
must have third-, fourth- or fifth-year class standing with a cumulative
grade point average of 3.0 or higher. All scholarships are for one
year, but a student may reapply for a second-year award. The scholarship
selection process was administered by the College of Architecture,
Planning and Design's development staff with candidate guidance
and input from the K-State landscape architecture faculty.
Soldan
is a 1999 Manhattan High School graduate.
