K-STATE'S CHIMES JUNIOR HONORARY INDUCTS NEW MEMBERS
MANHATTAN -- Kansas State University's junior honor society, Chimes, has selected new members for the 2008-2009 school year.
Chimes promotes scholarship, leadership and service. Members are selected during the spring of their sophomore year on the basis of their service and leadership to fellow students at K-State. To become members, students also must have at least a 3.0 grade point average.
Each month Chimes members participate in at least one community service activity. From coordinating K-State's Family Day and choosing the honorary K-State Family of the Year to volunteering for after-school tutoring programs and at Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community, Chimes members are active at K-State and in the surrounding community.
Chimes members for 2008-2009 include the following students:
Jessica Fiorini, marketing, Andover; Kristen Henriksen, interior design, Courtland; Christopher Jones, biochemistry, Derby; Rachel Day, pre-journalism and mass communications, De Soto; Erin Grotheer, political science, Girard; Megan Dirks, marketing, Hutchinson; Casey Cook, agricultural economics, Johnson.
From Greater Kansas City: Melanie Peele, pre-professional secondary education, Olathe; Claire Cody, dietetics, Kelsey Tyler, humanities, Jacob Willis , history, all of Overland Park; John Falk, construction science and management, Prairie Village.
