Campus know-it-alls: Orientation leaders get ready to welcome new students to university

MANHATTAN -- Twenty Kansas State University students will spend their summer helping new students and their families feel at home.

As orientation leaders, these select students will assist with the university's summer orientation and enrollment program. Working in large and small groups, they'll inform new students about resources, services, activities and facilities available at the university.

To get ready for the summer program, orientation leaders participate in training sessions during the spring semester and early summer, fine-tuning their knowledge of services and resources on campus, developing interactive presentations for new students and learning leadership skills.

Selected to serve as 2012 orientation leaders are:

Kyle Reynolds, senior in public relations and a returning orientation leader, Andover; Eli Schooley, junior in political science and pre-law, Clay Center; Chris Kellenbarger, sophomore in entrepreneurship and management and a returning orientation leader, Derby; Ashley Herb, freshman in accounting, Eureka; Chelsea Gerber, junior in marketing, Garden City.
