AGRONOMY ACADEMIC COORDINATOR ELECTED PRESIDENT OF STATE ASSOCIATION
MANHATTAN
-- Dana J. Minihan, assistant academic coordinator in the department
of agronomy at Kansas State University, was recently elected president
of the Kansas Association of Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture.
Minihan
will serve a two-year term, then continue as past president for
another two years.
The
Kansas Association of Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture was established
in May 1983 as a state affiliate to the North American Colleges
and Teachers of Agriculture. The association fosters open communication
between two-year and four-year institutions, and provides a means
for discussion on questions and problems related to the improvement
of higher education instruction in agriculture.
Association
members seek to improve higher education in agriculture through
examination and discussion of curriculums, teaching techniques,
facilities and materials. The group promotes instruction of agriculture
at all Kansas institutes of higher education.
Minihan,
Blaine, joined K-State in 1989 and has been with the department
of agronomy since 1994, where she also serves as an instructor.
In addition, she is the faculty adviser to K-State's Wheat State
Agronomy Club. She earned her bachelor's degree in management and
ethics from Manhattan Christian College; a master's in college student
personnel from K-State; and is working on a doctorate in college
student personnel, also from K-State.
