LARSON LECTURE SPEAKER TO PRESENT 'A JAPANESE TEACHER'S BRAG BOOK:
GRASSROOTS EFFORTS
TOWARD CROSS-CULTURAL UNDERSTANDING'
MANHATTAN
-- Kyoko Mizuno will present "A Japanese Teacher's Brag Book:
Grassroots Efforts Toward Cross-Cultural Understanding" as
part of Kansas State University's Vernon Larson International Luncheon
Lecture Series.
Mizuno,
an instructor of Japanese in K-State's department of modern languages,
will give her lecture Tuesday, March 13, at the Manhattan Holiday
Inn, 17th Street and Anderson Avenue. A luncheon, at 11:45 a.m.,
will precede the lecture. Reservations for the luncheon, which costs
$10, should be made by Friday, March 9, with the office of international
programs, 785-532-5990. Mizuno's lecture will start at 12:20 p.m.
and last until 1 p.m. The lecture is free and the public is invited.
K-State's
Vernon Larson Luncheon Lecture Series was started in 1979 by Vernon
C. Larson, then director of international agricultural programs
at the university. The series includes three lectures in the fall
semester and three lectures in the spring semester. The lectures
are a way for the K-State community and the public to hear presentations
from faculty who have recently participated in an extensive overseas
activity or who are involved in major international activities.
The
lecture series is sponsored by the Friends of International Programs
at K-State.
