DISTANCE EDUCATION ENROLLMENT CURRENTLY UNDER WAY FOR SUMMER 2007
MANHATTAN
-- The Division of Education at Kansas State University is currently
enrolling students for distance education courses offered during
summer 2007.
Through
the Division of Continuing Education, K-State offers 24 distance
degree programs, hundreds of courses and many certificate programs.
For
more than 30 years, K-State has offered courses and degrees for
people who are not able to come to campus, leave a current job or
who don't wish to uproot their family.
For
summer 2007, K-State will offer a new master's degree program in
community development. This program is designed for community leaders,
practitioners and for those committed to people and places.
"We
are always pleased to add new courses and programs as we continually
seek to meet people's educational needs," said David Stewart,
assistant dean of continuing education. "K-State continues
to be a leader among institutions that offer quality distance education
programs."
Distance
education courses offered by K-State use a variety of delivery methods,
including the Web, CD-ROM, audiotape, Telenet 2, multimedia, videotape
and guided study.
"From
the homemaker to the traveling executive to the employee seeking
advancement, our creative uses of technology enable us to deliver
courses to the student whenever and wherever they are needed,"
Stewart said.
