K-STATE STUDENTS EARN SEMESTER, GRADUATION HONORS
MANHATTAN -- Kansas State University is awarding more than 1,700 students semester honors for their academic performance during the 2007 spring semester.
In addition, more than 400 students are earning May 2007 graduation honors in recognition of their outstanding academic performance as undergraduates.
Students earning semester or graduation honors receive commendations from their deans, with the honors recorded on their permanent academic records.
Students receiving semester honors rank in the top 10 percent of their class within their respective colleges and were enrolled in at least 12 semester hours of graded course work.
K-State awards summa cum laude to students with a K-State academic average of 3.95 or higher, magna cum laude to students with an academic average of 3.85 to 3.949, and cum laude to students with a 3.750-3.849 academic average.
Graduating summa cum laude in May 2007 were 113 students, while 151 students graduated magna cum laude and 139 graduated cum laude. Six students who received multiple degrees also earned graduation honors for each degree earned.
