K-STATE'S CARDWELL HALL CLOSED TEMPORARILY FOR AIR QUALITY TESTING
MANHATTAN -- Cardwell Hall at Kansas State University was closed today at 9 a.m. to test air quality in the building. It is likely the building will remain closed at least through tomorrow, said Steve Broccolo, emergency management coordinator for public safety.
All classes in Cardwell Hall have been moved to other spaces, said Al Cochran, assistant provost.
Cardwell Hall is one of the buildings damaged in the recent tornado. Workers had to replace parts of the heating, ventilating and air conditioning system in the building. The closure is for air testing and is a precautionary measure to be sure no asbestos is in the air, Broccolo said.
The following classrooms have been moved:
| Cardwell 102 | Justin 109 |
| Cardwell 103 | Akert 231 |
| Cardwell 120 | Burt 114 |
| Cardwell 122 | Fairchild 212 |
| Cardwell 129 | Waters 333 |
