THIRD ANNUAL DIALOG ON SUSTAINABILITY AT K-STATE JULY 17
MANHATTAN -- The Consortium for Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability and its partners will host the third annual Dialog on Sustainability, Thursday, July 17, at Kansas State University.
The consortium is headquartered at K-State, where administrative leadership is provided by the Center for Hazardous Substance Research in the College of Engineering.
The daylong event, at the K-State Alumni Center, will disseminate information on current sustainability-related activities, groups and resources, and explore opportunities for further collaboration and future funding. The focus will be on students, classes and curriculum, operations, research and engagement. Featured topics include wind energy for communities, energy policies for communities and the state of Kansas, and sustainability initiatives and opportunities at K-State.
Activities will begin with registration at 8 a.m. and conclude at 4:40 p.m. with field tours of a rain garden, student farm and the UFM Community Learning Center's solar facility.
The public is invited to attend any or all of the sessions, including a community gathering, potluck and local food dialog at 5:30 p.m. July 17 at Long's Park, 17th and Yuma streets in Manhattan.
