K-STATE OFFERING GRANT WRITING COURSE FOR FALL SEMESTER

MANHATTAN -- Kansas State University will offer the course Grant Writing: Finding the Elusive Dollar for the fall semester.

The course -- ECACE 786, class No. 15652 -- can be taken for two or three graduate or undergraduate credit hours and provides an overview of proposal writing tips, funding research for government and private foundations, how to generate cutting-edge ideas, program planning, needs assessment, establishment of agency credibility, evaluation design, dissemination strategies, formulating budgets, and program sustainability.

Classes meet every other week, and during that period, class members learn to write a section of a proposal, having a complete grant proposal by the end of the class term. Proposals may be tailored to personal or agency interest.

Delivery methods for the course include TELENET 2, a Kansas statewide audio and video teleconferencing system, as well as guided study and online.

Instructors include Dana Reinert, program assistant in the College of Human Ecology; Beverly Page, funding information specialist for the vice president for research; and Sue Maes, interim dean of continuing education.

Additional course information, including meeting times, locations and online enrollment, is available at http://www.dce.k-state.edu/courses and typing in the appropriate class information in the search box.
